Native American Conflicts and Wars Native American conflicts and wars were the struggles between the native people and white people for the rich lands that became the United States. The savage battles provide the background for many exciting stories and legends about frontier life and the nations development. English settlers established their small colonies along the Atlantic Coast in the early 1600s. As they moved into the Native Americans lands in greater and greater numbers, quarrels developed between the natives and whites. These disagreements often led to the death of a native or a settler. Most of these wars resulted from such conflicts. A basic cause for the fighting between white people and Native Americans was the different way of life of each group. Some tribes raised corn and other vegetables, but they all hunted wild animals for food and clothing. Most white settlers made a living by farming. In the East, they cut down forests to get farmland. Afton they destroyed trees and underbrush, wild animals could no longer live there. In the West, white hunters killed thousands of buffalos just for their skins. The tribes usually had to choose between moving to new hunting grounds, which were often occupied by hostile tribes, or fighting to keep their old ones. A process that influences other people to achieve an objective and guides the company or community in a way to make it more coherent and cohesive is called leadership. We can also define leadership as a process of leading people in the right direction in order to achieve goals. Leaders apply leadership attributes such as values, knowledge and skills to implement this process in any organization. With many communities containing distressed properties devaluation of property values resulted in many owners losing money on their investments. Seemingly with lower home values and lower interest rated this would stimulate buying by consumers for home sales. But with the tougher qualifying standards for lending products fewer consumers are able to purchase and trending toward leasing. Building green also has negatively affected the market place locally because of the cost associated with higher material cost to build green. The opportunity that is created by communities containing distressed property sales is it attracts a different type of buyer to market too. The market share for this type of buyer will be fiercely competitive because more often than not this type of investor is cost conscious and highly educated with their investment practice. Customers are the ultimate target to market too for a business to be profitable in real estate. So it is very important to define your customer and market segment. So generally when you think of customers for real estate business you immediately think of businesses or individuals interested in the acquisition of property. You have three levels of customers all related to financial position of household. You have the economy customer that lives from check to check and almost always want more than they can afford and is misguided because they believe they can spend any money without a budget. You have median income household which may be considered middle class most of these customers are budget wise and educated buyers. Lastly you have the custom buyers where they are all six and seven figure incomes. Opportunities for new customers exist when you enter the international market where you have foreign investors interested in properties located locally. You may also have businesses locally wanting to acquire property globally through a local broker with international access. The customer base will need to be redefined by demographics as well the type of buyer or seller you are working with. An extensive information system minimizes the pressure of maintaining data. The sales representatives were able to be more productive since the reports which they prepare monthly helped them to preserve their respective customer base. A representative could also measure his own performance since he prepared the report himself. An extensively maintained information system which is under the control of the manager ensures the secrecy of crucial data. Such a system also prevents the representatives from distorting or manipulating the data to serve their own purpose. This also entertains that the management accedes to authentic data and frame accurate policies in the future (Roy 2016). Disadvantages: The reports were prepared by the sales representatives who were subordinates to the sales manager. They did not have any access to the report for future reference which prevented from utilizing the data base of the company. The fact that the sales manager alone had access to the reports once they were filed reveals that the chain of communication within the company was hindered by the hierarchical system. This could create lack of understanding between the various strata of employees and could give rise to a conflict. This could hamper the productivity and organizational culture in the company (Miller 2014). The information system was too centralized for a swift communication system in the company. Decentralization and access to the information and data would create a better understanding among the employee. It would also be taken as their involvement in the working of the company which will motivate them to be more productive (Miller 2014). The sales representatives have vast experience of sales which they can use in other departments and help the company to grow further. They should be promoted so that they are able train new representatives. This will also save the company from loosing strategic data and also from incurring heavy cost to recover it.
